Neuromodulators are described as something that potentiates or inhibits the transmission of a nerve impulse. The most common neuromodulators used at Moksha Derm is Botox®.
The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, known as Botox®, is a purified protein injectable filler that is FDA-approved for the temporary treatment of frown lines. This simple, non-surgical injection is also commonly used to temporarily reduce or eliminate forehead creases, crow’s feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck.
Most patients see results within about two weeks of treatment, with continued improvement over the next few weeks. Results last four to six months and can be “touched up” indefinitely. Many patients who have regular Botox® injections find their wrinkles and lines soften over time which allows them to extend the time between injections while still maintaining their results.
